“Nearly hidden in the vast tundra, Outpost Creek's clear waters and small size makes for excellent wading and fly-fishing.”

The Camp

Location

The Alaska Wilderness Outpost camp is located south of King Salmon, Alaska on the Bering Sea (Bristol Bay) side of the Alaska Peninsula. We are surrounded by the 1.2 million acre Becharof National Wildlife Refuge and limited access to the area allows us to operate here with little competition from other fisherman and lodges. To date, we have not seen any other fishermen here and while sightings are possible, they are not likely. We have even adopted the name “Outpost creek” to help shroud the actual location and name of this special watershed. If you want absolute isolation for your fishing adventure check out our very remote Alaska Wilderness Safari camp, where we don’t see any other fishermen from other lodges our entire season.

The camp sits adjacent to a larger glacially stained river (with no fish by camp) and Outpost creek is a minimum 20 minute hike away. In general, scenery is open tundra with rolling hills near camp but offers a spectacular distant snow-capped mountain backdrop on clear days. Sightings of bear, moose, caribou, fox, wolf, beaver and bald eagles are not the norm like our Safari camp, but are possible any day of the week.
